Who we are
This policy explains how Lux Audio Visual (“Lux AV,” “we,” or “us”) handles information collected through luxaudiovisual.com and the inquiries submitted through this website. We provide home theater and integrated home technology services in the Houston area.
Information we collect
When you request a consultation, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, phone number, city, service area, project type, budget range, and timeline, along with an optional role and project description.
Our hosting and service providers also receive technical information needed to operate and protect the website, such as your IP address, browser and device information, and pages requested. If you allow optional cookies, we collect the website usage and visit-source information described below.
How we use your information
We use inquiry information to respond, discuss your project, prepare estimates, and provide reasonable follow-up. If you become a customer, we also use information needed to plan, deliver, support, and service your project. We use technical information to operate and protect the website, and optional analytics to understand how visitors find and use it.
We may also use information to maintain business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Please avoid including passwords, access codes, financial account details, or other sensitive information in the consultation form.
Follow-up and marketing choices
Sending an inquiry lets us respond and follow up about your project. It does not enroll you in a marketing email subscription, and accepting analytics cookies is not permission for marketing emails or texts.
If you separately choose to receive marketing emails, you can unsubscribe using the instructions in those messages or contact us at privacy@luxaudiovisual.com. We may still communicate with you about an active project, service request, or transaction. You can also ask us to stop sales follow-up. Keeping a business record does not override a request not to be contacted.
Service providers and disclosures
We use providers to host the website, handle email, store inquiry records, and support our operations. These include Vercel for website hosting and Google Workspace for email and inquiry records. If you allow optional analytics, we also use Google Analytics. Inquiry information may be handled by the business systems we use to manage and respond to your request.
We may disclose relevant information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer, subject to applicable protections.
Cookies and website analytics
Optional analytics. Google Analytics loads only after you choose “Accept optional cookies.” It measures page visits, consultation form views and starts, and successful inquiry submissions. Our analytics events do not include your form answers, contact details, or inquiry identifiers. Google advertising signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our configuration. Google still receives technical information from your browser when its analytics service loads.
Visit source. After you allow optional cookies, we may save a cookie called lux_first_touch on a subsequent page request. It records the page where that measurement began, the time, referring page, and campaign information in the link. If you submit an inquiry while optional cookies are allowed, we can attach this information to understand how you found us. This cookie lasts up to one year.
Your preference. A separate cookie, lux_cookie_consent_v2, remembers your choice for up to one year. It does not identify you by name and is used to respect your preference. We also use browser local storage to notify other open tabs when you change your choice; that storage remains until you or your browser clear it, but it does not extend your consent.
Google’s analytics cookies, such as _ga and _ga_<ID>, can last up to two years and may be renewed on later visits. Browser settings may shorten these periods. You can change your choice with “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Rejecting optional cookies stops Google Analytics after the page reloads and clears our visit-source cookie and the first-party Google Analytics cookies accessible to this site. Withdrawing permission does not erase data already collected.
You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser. You can browse the website and send a consultation request without allowing optional analytics. Hosting and security processing needed to deliver the site still takes place.

How long we keep information
We keep active inquiries while the project discussion or opportunity remains active. Our retention approach is to review inactive inquiries around three years after the last meaningful two-way contact, such as a reply, call, meeting, or new request. We then delete or reduce the record unless a documented future project, ongoing relationship, legal obligation, or other specific business need supports keeping it longer. Sending an automated email does not restart that period.
For people who separately subscribe to marketing, we keep the information needed for that subscription while it remains active, with periodic review of inactive contacts. We may keep a minimal unsubscribe or “do not contact” record to honor your choice.
Customer, project, service, warranty, accounting, and dispute records may need to be kept longer for their specific purpose or to meet legal obligations. These reviews are a business process, not an automatic three-year deletion timer.
Your choices and privacy requests
To ask about your information, request access, correction, or deletion, or ask us to stop a use of it, email privacy@luxaudiovisual.com. You do not need to submit a project inquiry or create an account. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional rights, including a copy of your information or the ability to opt out of certain processing. We also consider reasonable requests where a particular law does not require them.
We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your identity. Some information may need to be retained for a contract, warranty, legal obligation, security purpose, or dispute. If we cannot fulfill your request, we will explain why. You may reply to ask us to review that decision. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards and established service providers to protect information. No website, email service, or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our website is intended for adults arranging home technology services and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so we can address it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as our practices change. We will post the revised version with an updated effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate or required.
